根据工信部最新发布的报告显示，据海关统计，2013年我国彩色电视机出口5959.42万台，同比下降3.1%；出口额110.5亿美元，同比下降8.7%；其中，液晶电视出口5456.5万台，同比下降0.9%；出口额106.5亿美元，同比下降8.6%。液晶电视出口量及出口额占彩电比重分别达91.5%和96.4%，液晶电视出口单价从209.6美元/台降至195.1美元/台，下降6.9%，液晶电视出口单价的大幅下滑是造成彩电出口下滑的主要原因。
报告指出，2013年，我国共生产彩色电视机12776.1万台，同比下降0.4%，从月度产量完成情况看，前5个月产量增速波动较大，6月开始呈震荡下滑态势。其中，CRT电视产量增速连续超过36个月负增长，今年以来，产量增速降幅均超过50%；液晶电视产量增速有7个月出现负增长；等离子电视自7月以来，连续6个月负增长。
统计数据显示，2002年—2013年中国彩电产量整体呈现缓慢增长趋势，2013年1-10月份产量1.1亿台，与2012年相比基本持平，未来几年或将呈现下滑迹象。
业内人士表示，2014年彩电总体产量、销量均将出现下滑趋势。未来国内彩电企业全球化趋势明显，纷纷寻求海外合作，并销售自主产品，因此或将导致明年出口量下降，但由于产品的转型、技术的成熟、生产成本的降低，销售额和盈利能力可能出现提升。
另有分析指出，3D、智能；4K、oled、曲面等平板电视技术快速涌现出来，不断丰富国内彩电行业，未来随着技术研发能力增强，平板电视可能集各种技术于一身。由于发展思路的不同，各国彩电企业发展的方向或各有侧重，韩国企业LG、三星利用上游面板优势主推OLED，日本企业以索尼为主，主推4K以上高清大屏，中国企业TCL、长虹、创维、康佳等主推智能电视 的市场竞争格局将形成。
